Bryn Horton

Horton Family

Ever since my first child enrolled in our local kindergarten, I've been very involved in the Sun Prairie Schools. I served for four years as Vice President and am starting my second year as President—at both Eastside Elementary and Patrick Marsh Middle School. As my children have grown older, I have also become involved in the Sun Prairie Schools at the district level, joining the School Space Committee, the Parent Leadership Council, and the Boundary Task Force. These opportunities have led me to want to do even more for our schools.

I have a lifelong appreciation for public education. My father was a teacher and administrator and my sister was a special education teacher. I have learned a lot about the system from them and from the experiences I had as a student in a large Illinois school district.

I grew up in Elgin, Illinois, and graduated from Elgin High School in 1994. I got my Associates in Science from Elgin Community College and my Bachelor's of Science from University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. I worked in the pharmaceutical industry before having kids. My family moved to Wisconsin in the summer of 2010. I have a husband and 2 boys, aged 11 and 7, as well as a dog, cat and 2 fish!
